What are the HR CheckUp E-Clinics?

The HR CheckUp E-Clinics are a series of web-based seminars (webinars) that are intended to assist leaders and managers better understand and manage HR issues, practices and processes in nonprofits. Approximately 90 minutes in length, each E-Clinic will focus on a particular HR area (such as performance management or recruitment) and offer practical information, tools and resources that participants will be able to apply immediately in their organizations. What are the technology requirements needed to attend an HR CheckUp E-Clinic?

HR CheckUp E-Clinics will be presented using Adobe Connect Pro, a web-based platform that works well with a range of browsers (Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox) and operating systems (Windows, Mac OS-X, Linux).

If your computer has speakers, you will be able to hear the webinar out of the computer speakers. Make sure that they are plugged in, on, and unmuted. If your computer does not have speakers, you may dial in to hear the audio broadcast over the telephone.

If you have never attended a Connect Pro meeting before:

Why is the HR Council charging a registration fee for the HR CheckUp E-Clinics?

Our decision to charge a registration fee for the HR CheckUp E-Clinics is two-fold.

As there are a limited number of user-connections for each session, we must ensure that as many of the people who register, actually attend the E-Clinic. We would hate to see someone who wants to attend not have the opportunity because someone else who 'may' decide to attend is holding up a free space. The registration fee helps us secure a participant's commitment to attending the E-Clinic that they registered for.

Secondly, while we have received funding to support the initial development of the HR CheckUp (including the E-Clinic webinar series, HR Advisor Blog and in-person workshop series), we intend to use the proceeds from E-Clinic registration fees to ensure the viability and sustainability of the program beyond the period for which it was originally funded. These unrestricted proceeds will be reinvested in developing additional resources, materials and programs for you, our users.

Can we share an HR CheckUp registration among our staff team or with other nonprofits?

Absolutely. The HR CheckUp E-Clinic registration fee is per computer connection, not per individual or organization. In fact, we encourage you to bring your staff team together to watch and participate in the E-Clinic as a group. If you have a meeting room and a projector, why not invite people from other organizations in your network to join you for an afternoon of learning, brainstorming and HR solution-building?

If you do plan on bringing a group of people together to participate, let us know! We'd love to mention your collaborative efforts during the E-Clinic and on our blog.
